    This species was assigned to the genus Drosophila (including Scaptodrosophila ) before, without classification to subgenus. Endemic to the Philippines and before only recorded by Sturtevant (1927).

    Differs by having epandrium slightly triangularly pointed at caudalventral corner; paramere relatively broad, apically round, only basally with several setulae; aedeagus small.
